Amanda L. V. Shalaby grew up in a small town just outside of New York City and always wanted to be a writer. At age 14, she wrote her first novel in longhand using a 5-subject, college-ruled notebook and she hasn’t stopped since. Her love of stories was inspired by her mother and grandmother – both voracious readers who taught her the value of a library card. When not doing research or baking carrot cake, Amanda writes historical mysteries of her own while consuming entirely too much coffee. She lives with her husband of 18 years, and is a proud dog, cat, and bunny mom.
